Hi everyone.
yesterday all of the sudden the LED on spool one began to blink red.
There also was a messge on the display, that filament of slot one could not be retracted. (I didn’t use it for some time)
Afer a few attemps to fix this by resetting the pronter, I finally scanned the QRCode on the error message and was presented by a video on how to disassemble the AMS.
Unfortunately this video wasn’t much help, because it didn#t show how to unlock the PTFE Tube on the AMS, so I cut it.
After I disassemble the AMS it was easy to remove the broken part of the filament.
But why do I have to disassemble this???
I cannot think of any broken filament that couldn’t be pushed out easily, if only the motor would feed new filament into the tube.
There should be a software procedure to clear such a thing, without having to diassemble everything. To remove the PTFE from the AMS side would all disaaaembly that would be necessary.
The printer can’t determine why filament won’t feed. It has to assume the worst, that the filament is jammed and no amount of pulling will free it. The printer gives up to avoid overheating and burning out the drive motors.
Find a hobby/craft store and go buy a ~1m length of 1mm “piano wire”, which you can then use to push a busted piece of filament through the PTFE tubes if it’s not jammed.
Maybe you misunderstood the problem?
The Filament was broken behind the first feeder motor.
The filament was transported out and the spool was free.
In that situation, the broken part was between the first and second feeder.
Only the option just to feed the filament in again would have pushed the broken peace to the second feeder and out.
I didn‘t mean to take this action automatically, but an option to feed in would have helped easily and I wouldn‘t have had to disassemble the AMS
This is exactly where I was thinking about, it would be very handy if I would be able to push it out by new filament (in the same position in the AMS).
But when I push new filament in, the AMS will push it back.
The option to push it out should be present in the software.
