Just noticed my filament buffer banging a lot. I wonder what that could be and/or if normal.
Every ~10min the buffer will start a sequence of several (~10) banging noises. Sound is coming from the buffer sliding right, which it seems to be doing very aggressively some times.
AMS and print seems normal.
Mine was sort of making a banging noise, maybe not as frequent as yours. I found that one of them was sticking a little bit during its movement. I put a very light/thin coat of synthetic grease on the sliding contact surface. Seems to have fixed it for me.
When I say thin, I mean like you wouldn’t even be able to tell it was there unless you touched it and felt it on your fingers.
Mine was banging in the front left corner, it’s banging because the PTFE tube is probably 5mm too short. I replaced the tubes with a longer replacement to make it bend less when the tool head is in the front left corner. Works, but now the tubes bang on the front vents
Hahaha – we can’t win. Mine was banging in the very same spot, but indeed stopped after I changed my AMS position (which in turn might have made the PTFE less tight)
