Filament buildup on head

—said as Arnold Schwarzenegger— it’s not a tumor.
Well actually looks like it is.

How does this even happen? I thought there was a sensor if the front of the tool head pops off??

I’m not even sure how to get this off of here.

Ouch.

It looks like you are missing a magnet. If it is still stuck to the print head then you may have the misfortune of 1:4 chance it is a mag switch and that one told the printer the cover was still on.

Anyhow…

Start by cutting off the bulk of it.

When you get closer to the organs :face_with_peeking_eye: be careful. If it got into the fan, the it is a write off and get a new one. A heat gun and needle nose pliers may help to soften it and separate it from the housing.

There’s 35min of my life I won’t get back. LOL
Back up and running. I’ll have to look to see where the mag switch is.

Please don’t share those pictures again. They gave me nightmares. :see_no_evil:

In all seriousness, did you figure out what caused it?

Basically it came down to a 1st layer issue. And it just kept going. I need to figure out why the sensor didn’t trip when the front cover came off.

That reminds me, I haven’t seen “The Thing” in a while.
