Filament dropdown list sorting

It used to be that all my filament profiles were in alphabetic order in the dropdow list - user filament profiles in the first section sorted alphabetically then system presets in another section, also alphabetic.

Some time ago after one of the BS updates, this changed and they seem to be completely random. When you have dozens of filament profiles it’s very hard to fine the one you want to assign to the filament slot you are using in the Prepare tab.

Anyone know how to make them sorted again?

Hi,

The issue has been communicated to BambuStudio developers; it is stated as part of the requirement list:

It doesn’t seem completely random, yet I never figured out the methodology.

Thanks for the info. Well, they have done nothing about it in 4 months, so who knows?

Agreed on the need for an obvious order.

Without knowing how it’s organized, it is random and chaos in the real world.

Maybe it’s based on the binary spelling on the middle letter spreading out left and right. Or, it’s based on the number of socks my dryer eats while printing a certain filament brand.

In fact, it’s another advantage of Orca over BS. Orca sorts alpha, bso it’s easy to find what you want.
