What can I do to get my filament to feed, keep getting the error that my filament can’t feed. It’s not stuck and I get it about 5 or 6 times and click retry then after a bunch of times it works
Well, if you have not yet installed “AMS saver” (use as search term on MakerWorld), they do really help me.
Other than that, position the AMS in such a way as to enable the shortest possible path through the PTFE’s while keeping generous bend radii. That should already help a lot.
I’ve got the same problem as you. Check Hall sensor.
Mine works intermittently. Sometimes they detect the filament and then it doesn’t. Try to clean it.
If it still doesn’t work, you might want to change it.
I’ve ordered a new sensor and will see if it works again.
I don’t use an AMS but got the same error, to fix it I removed the PTFE tube from the toolhead, clicked retry and reinserted the PTFE tube with the filament sticking out the front back into the toolhead.
Coincidentally, I found that my PTFE tube had chafed against the glass ceiling until it had a hole in it… Or my AMS was mega hot and melted it through the glass? I haven’t found out which, yet; but do check your PTFE tube!
Ah, I can’t include a photo, so I suppose I’ve gotta put a link to an imgur?
Ah, I can’t do that either. Check your PTFE tube
That’s just wear from rubbing against the glass. There’s little clips people have designed on MakerWorld you can print that rub instead. I’ve got new tubing on the way and will be doing it too.
I just found them! Very much appreciated
