I don’t think your post is rude at all, I agree, it’s a perfectly valid observation… It’s a PIA and makes zero logic to me as well.
I mean, if BBL Co. do not manufacture filament, just repackage/rebadge ‘commonly sourced’ product, then what’s the logic behind not buying-in sufficient stock to populate online stores across the globe?
I’m in Sthn hemisphere, and we’ve had 6mths of poor supply for the basics down here as well. Fingers crossed its a temporary wrinkle and does not retrain otherwise loyal BBL patrons away, to competitor suppliers.
For the same reason shortages exist. If A relies on B to supply the product but B can’t produce enough of what A needs, then A simply can’t buy the product. Boom - no stock.
If only maintaining supply chain issues and contracts was as easy as most online make it out to be. It’s easy to sit on our couches or chairs and pontificate on how easy it is to supply on a global scale. Guess that’s why we are all mega moguls and captains of industry, right?
First, in theory, BBL filament has to be of consistant quality to match the settings used for their filaments in Studio. Pre-sets and RFID use mean nothing if quality is all over the place. That in itself will creat a problem if you decide to switch suppliers willy nilly again and again. So let’s not go with “commonly sourced”, which it isn’t in this case.
While there is the benifit of said presets and RFID goodness, there is no contract chaining you to BL filaments. Sure they’re nice, but if you can’t get it reliably then do get what you can.
I usually just hit “notify me when available” and move on. Just gotta be somewhat quick when you get that email if you really want it.
As for the other replty about dissolving, I don’t follow.
If you insist… 1) your preferences will never be mine, and I’m entitled to mine. And 2) Rudeness 3mths old does not make it unreadable, disappear, or lose its need of an overdue apology. Hoping we’re done here. seeya
