Filament issue in Bambu Studio

Hi,

New here with A1-AMS lite/Windows 11, printer calibrated and restarted.
AMS-lite has: 1-eSun PLA, 2-Bambu PETG HF, 3-Bambu PETG HF, 4-Bambu PETG HF.

Having issues with filaments when they are not showing correctly in Bambu Studio, please do not judge to hard if I am doing something wrong, still learning :slightly_smiling_face: It is started several days ago, before it worked 50/50… Tested deleting profiles in… AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\user\9167411585\filament, still fails…

When I am opening any/different print profiles in Bambu Lab from Maker World, in Prepare mode I see(pic. a1) only 1 filament(Bambu PLA Basic) in spooler 1 and nothing else. Read that I can click Synchronize or just manually add correct filaments. I did Synchronize and another pop up window(pic. a5) saying about to save preset(I am confused here) then I click OK and finally I can see(pic. a6) all my correct filaments.

So, when I slice the plate and then click Print plate in the pop up window I can see only 1st filament which is 1-eSun PLA and other 3 options are greyed out/unclickable. When I hover the mouse(pic. a7) above 3 greyed out/unclickable options I can see following message: “Note: the filament type(PETG) does not match with the filament type(PLA) in the slicing file. If you want to use this slot, you can install PETG instead of PLA and change slot information on the ‘Device’ page.”

So I can’t choose another filament from AMS lite…
Can some one please help to solve the problem with filaments?
What I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

I hope I understood the underlying question correctly, i.e. “why can’t I select the other spools for printing/how to be able to select the other three spools?”

With Material in slot 1 assigned to all parts in the assembly, that happens to be PLA. So the slice (gcode generation) is only usable for PLA. Hence the other 3 slots, loaded with PETG, can not be selected.
To select a different slot, either all other spools need to be of the same material (PLA), or all parts of the assembly need to be assigned a different material (PETG). Just select the “Assembly”, right click, “Change Filament” to one of the other slots and then slice (again).

Hope I understood the problem correctly, :four_leaf_clover: & :crossed_fingers:

Thank you for your replay.

I would like to have(on AMS lite) different filaments and be able to change between different filaments in Bambu Studio, so I think you understand me correctly :grinning:

Could you please guide me with your setup? I think I found the “Assembly” but can’t find where to right click, “Change Filament”…

It is a bit confusing with Bambu Studio for now…

Excellent

On the left hand side, in the product tree, you have already selected the assembly. Right click exactly there.
A pop-panel will appear which contains a number of possible actions. “Filament” or “Change Filament” is one of these.

Just remember that you need to synch your project filaments first to have them easily available (i.e. getting to your a7 screenshot above). Otherwise, it can get a bit confusing.

I tried to find it…
Do not see it… :pensive:
Could you share some step by step screenshots if possible?

Tried to find it and finally discovered that I have to right click on the model it self and change the filament from pop up menu… :grinning:

Thanks for your help!

But is it permanent solution? Feels weird to do all unnecessary steps just to change the filament…

click on object

press number matching filament slot

done

Thank you for your replay.

I synchronised filaments list and it showed it wrong, ok, then I did as you suggested and switched to the yellow filament N3, but still could see/choose onle between 1st and 2nd filaments only…
See screenshot below

Is it so that my printer has an issue or is it me who do not understand how printer and AMS should works together… :disappointed_relieved:

That, … is a bit strange…

Just to confirm: You have 3 filaments loaded in the AMS light? And assigned correctly through the printers touchscreen?

Then, this should display correctly on the device tab of Bambu Studio. This is important as in my experience with Studio (still using an earlier version due to increased bugs), it will synchronize filaments in the “Prepare” tab with those of the “Device” tab rather than the actual AMS. If there are differences between the physical AMS and Studio’s device tab, you’ll first need to correct that by double checking on the printers display that filaments are assigned correctly and verifying on the device tab.

Once assigned and synchronized correctly, you can actually use yet again another method to map filament colors: Select the model filament in the Project Filaments and a pop-up appears. Near the top are the synchronized AMS filaments.
Very quick and convenient, but it can get a bit confusing at first.

Thank you @EnoTheThracian and @DaLanMan for your help.

The issue with yellow filament was that I put it in the wrong one, it was in A4 instead of A3 so embarrassing… :joy: :joy: :joy:

So thank you all for your help!

well, I guess it is a bit of a farm.

I do print medical devices for people getting new limbs, but it is just a thing I do for a local org. They get things cheaper if they provide models and cad for the sleeve and such.

Past that I have been in fabrication and design services for years, also did a lot of work in company relocation and office setup. not as a primary job, just along with being a consultant, most companies doing relocation are on the real estate/interior decoration side of the coin, I did it as part of my network/computer/business consulting company.

I have semi retired, had to with medical issues. I still try to help out when I can.

Glad to see you got your info. I am ESL (not a native English speaker) so I understand that challenge. Welcome to the fun zone.
