Filament jamming or hanging at junction from AMS

New P1S user here. On about my 10th print and I have started to have an issue where at the beginning of a print when the filament spools from the AMS, it gets hung up at the “2” piece in the picture here.

Sometimes it repeatedly jams into it and gives up. Sometimes it makes a click noise like it got caught up but then makes it through ok.

I wasn’t sure what the “2” piece was called or else I could have searched for it better before posting here.

FYI I did take apart the tubing going into “2” and nothing looks odd.

Anything obvious to fix this or to check for?

Make sure tubing is cut flush(flat, no angle), and inserted fully.

Might pull filament out after it gets cut, and see what the cut looks like. Maybe the cutter blade has a problem?

Is it normal to make a “click” sound when passing through that joint piece? Maybe if it’s normal I’m ok now.

#2 would usually be called a tubing connector or coupler.

The click is probably because the end of the filament is catching a little bit when entering the coupler or on the end of the exit tube. Flush tubing cuts and full insertion minimize the chances of a jam.

It may also help to do what you can to align the entry and exit tubing. If the tubing is curved the filament tip will be pressed against the joints. Keeping the tubing straight-ish in that area will relieve that pressure, reduce the volume of the clicks, and minimize the chance of a jam.

Did you solve it? My stock p1s with ams2proi never loaded filament!

I had to replumb all my PTFE tubing when I made a rack to stack my AMS’s on and I got rid of that coupler when I put in all the new tubing.

I replaced it with the Bambu 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter to be able to connect up an AMS HT.
Don’t know if this is accurate but my perception was that coupler was to facilitate feeding filament to printer for a spool hanging on the spool holder.

Same issue - everything is brand new, jams at the connector every time when changing filament/colors. making me crazy. Besides rethreading the entire assembly are there any tricks? Is there a better connector to use or make?
