Filament keeps jumping ship in AMS

This is a 26hr print and after 22hrs I’m only 6% through. Nearly every time it switches this green filament decides to get tangled.

Very frustrating

The green looks a bit loosely wound. Did you wind it yourself? Or did it somehow become loosely wound from using it in your AMS?

It was a bambu refill. I put it on an empty spool and cut the plastic binding off.
I guess I can try and respool it. :man_shrugging:

Have you tried watching the filament change to see what the AMS is doing? Perhaps the unload process is causing the filament to become loosely wound.

I figured it out. Turns out when I put the refill on the bambu spool I guess it was bulged out a little and didn’t fully snap together causing the spool to be lopsided. Which caused the spool to bind in the AMS.

So instead of trying to fix the spool which is too dangerous. We’ve all been there. So I re-spooled the entire thing. Now it’s rolling smoothly on the AMS.

Good job figuring the issue.
