Filament recycler incoming

Oh, you reminded me about this. The site is full LOL.

“launching early 2026”
“launching soon”
“launching early 2025” ← it’s september guys, I wouldn’t call that “early”…
“launching Q3 2025” ← it’s september guys, Q3 is about to end…

And even then finding out what the actual price is is freaking guess work:
It’s $2499 for “normal” price and $1489 with “discount” that’s paid with $100 deposit.

Follow up on my post from October 2024 on this topic: Nothing’s changed. Loop’s T&C leave a lot to be desired, clearly a copy-paste from some other website dealing with software sale/distribution, not even a basic review and update to adjust it to Loop’s type of product. Looks like an amateurish attempt to parodiate a more serious, professional website, yet, as it can be clearly seen, failing miserably. Adding some screenshots for reference:

A small change occurred though, since my last post : a “contact info” link has appeared. I leave it to you to pull out your own conclusions:

I’m usually behind so this maybe posted somewhere else and I didn’t use the correct magic search words to find it.

Creality M1 filament maker Prototype

Kind of interested, but I’ll wait a few weeks when they inevitably release V2. Or maybe pick up V3 in april.

Yeah, as a proof of concept I think it’s pretty mature. Still need to come up with a pelletizer/chopper for recycle. Hopefully it can make it to a full blown product. Then the cheap rip-offs can hit the market.

Edit: Guess they do have the shredder covered also.

I have seen this product loads of times and the new version 2, but version one has never been on sale yet. I have never seen it on public sale yet. Plus the cost is a lot of money. The amount of filament you could lol.

I get they need to recoup whatever costs and “product development” (if Crealtiy has more than primates throwing crap at a wall) but $899 is a lot of money. To everyone. I’ll wait for someone else to race this to the bottom. I just don’t have the stomach to give Creality a buck let alone $898 more.

That discount on MRSP is amusing. I can’t think of a printer they’ve put out that ever sold for retail. Same for other manufacturers. Keep the $50, let others find the inevitable Creality quality flaws, and then purchase it in about 3-4 months at a bigger discount.

I’ve yet to see a well functioning variant of this. I think with virgin manufactured smooth and consistent pellets, a machine that needs to be forked into your garage, and many thousands of dollars you can get a homemade spool of decent quality…… But something that is actually takign post-printed parts, shredding them and successfully getting spaghetti out the other end? Creality is not the one who will get this right

Fully agree with your reasoning. Creality is, by far, neither trustworthy or reliable company when it comes to its products, be these printers, scanners or even filaments.

2 years later… Yep, it’s definitely a scam!
