Filament snapped off in AMS?

I used an old reel of PLA and apparently is snapped off somewhere in the system when the AMS retracted it. So no I have an error code and from the looks of the suggested fix, I need to go in and do brain surgery in the AMS.
Shouldn’t I just be able to put a new reel of PLA in the AMS and push the broken piece of filament down to the nozzle and purge it?
Seems like a way easier fix.

Perhaps. It depends on where the filament is stuck. Maybe figure that part out first before attempting to clear the jam.

You need to find where the filament is and take it out of the tube depending on which section it is. Hopefully its not in the AMS itself as that is a PIA to get at.

I have the same problem. And the piece of filament that is broken off is down inside it somewhere where I can’t see. I tried pushing with a piece of filament and that did not work.
Any other suggestions before tearing down the AMS to get at it?
