after several years printing on Ender3 I have bought the A1 combo.
Mounting my non Bambulab spools are difficult for me, could be I am pressing on hard enough or I am doing something wrong. See picture ! There is a gap betwee the right spool and the AMS body. I fear that it will fall apart after some time in the middle of a print.
What do you think?

The AMS Lite uses the central hole in the spools to be the mounting solution, the other AMS designs use the outer circumference and thickness.
Each technique has its floors and incompatibilities as the diameter of the central holes, the circumference ps and thickness per are often different with each manufacturer.
There is no standard.
Some spools on the AMS lite need adapters to make them fit because the internal hole is too big, they can be found on MakerWorld. Your problem appears to be that it is too small (based on the photo angle you supplied), there is no fix for that other than re spooling onto another spool (respoolers are available on MakerWorld).
Some spools do not work with the non-lite AMS units due to thickness or a diameter that doesn’t sit on the two internal rollers.
It is very annoying, but until there is a universal spool package (circumference, thickness and internal hoke diameter), this problem will persist.

I have thought there is a trick because the left and the right spool are from the same manufacturer.
And first I was not able to mount the left spool correctly, but suddenly it was fitting.
I guess/hope the grey rubber pad will soften over time.
Another idea is to print the enclosure for the AMS lite, then the spool cannot drop down.

Take the spool holder off the AMS lite and it should make it easier to get the spool all the way on.

Some manufacturers have many different spool designs, even revisions within the same type of material.
eSun has four I know of just for their PLA filaments.
It is the dimensions that count.
Have you measured the diameter of the two spools or laid one on top of the other to line up the holes to see if they are identical?
If they are, then manipulation may work, wiggling for example.
No, I’m serious… they pop off and it would be easier to push the spool all the way in. If the spool on the left is the same as the spool on the right then it should fit the same way.

The solution is to flatten the backside of the grey rubber bumpers.
