Filament Sticking to Nozzle on warmup

Hey all, I have looked online but cant seem to find a satisfactory solution, whenever my printer is heating up ready to go the filament is not wiping off like it used to, keeps getting stuck which stops the poop going down the chute and if I miss it, it drags the filament over the bed and gets stuck in the print.

There was something I downloaded from printables which stopped it a bit but I wanted a more permanent solution or advice!

New to the P1P too and having the same problem. I’m going to monitor the temp of the head as it warms up and see if there is a way to get more heat on the first layer(s).

Same problem here. After cleaning the nozzles, there is always a bit of material hanging on or next to the nozzle, which then mostly falls off during the following bed calibration…
Any solution yet ?

Did you try replacing the wiper? They wear out over time.

It’s brand new on my end. Looking at it with an inspection light and magnifying lenses, it appears in my case the extruded material is stuck to the side of the extruder ( mostly). My concern is that it will interfere with the calibration/leveling of the bed. I’m going to keep a eye on it and see how it behaves as I use it with different settings going forward.

My one is new as well…

same here…
When I have some time, I will adjust the start G-code. I hope then to get rid of all the filament through the Poop Chute.

My wiper is new as well, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t - Can be a bit of a pain because if I miss it when the print starts it can get stuck somewhere.

Same issue here but mostly with PETG.
I don’t remember it was acting like this before this latest update.

Is your nozzle wiper good? They do get wore out. Hence why Bambu sent 2 extras.

Please be aware that if your fillament is “wet” the plastic starts oozing out of the nozzle after wiping it.

Make sure your fillament is dry before printing and you will have much better results overall.

Plenty of video’s on the internet on how to do this.

This is happening with brand new filament out of the box, personally I think the nozzle needs replacing, I would have expected it to last a little longer. Will soon see as I have a new P1P on the way today.

Brand new fillament does not mean it can’t be wet.

I don’t remember who makes it but there is a paint you can brush on the nozzle which keeps any filament from sticking. Kind of a teflon for filament.

Of u say so. I have an p1p should i dry my fillamen in the oven then. ???

Filament will still ooze out of the nozzle while it’s heating up prior to laying down the purge lines, as it’s at melting temp or above.

My X-1 has filament clinging to the nozzle after the first layer is down. After the printer inspects the layer the head goes back and purges, wipes across the roller then continues printing. Sometimes it drags loop of filament with it.

Hello everyone,
I’m not sure if this will help anyone, but I had significant issues with the print quality of my P1P (with enclosure) after switching from a 0.4mm to a 0.6mm nozzle (purchased as a set). I experienced bubbles that sometimes led to holes and a cracking noise during printing, even though the filament was dry.
Additionally, I struggled with excess filament sticking to the nozzle, ruining the prints. In my case, I believe I’ve identified the main causes, and my prints now look wonderful again.

Firstly, regarding the bubbles, I achieved good results by setting the retraction speed to 0.2-0.25 instead of 0.3, and limiting the retraction length to 0.55 for PETG and 0.6 for PLA. A lower flow rate was also necessary, with mine being below 0.96 for PETG and under 0.97 for PLA. If these adjustments still don’t help, you might consider lowering the maximum volumetric speed.

The last issue with filament sticking to the nozzle was resolved by increasing the wiping distance in the nozzle settings by 0.5, making it 2.5mm. I believe this value may vary for each person, but 2.5mm is a good starting point for testing, I think.

My wiper is brand new (Infact my whole printer is brand new) and I have had similar problems. It wont let me post it yet I guess, since I’m too new but mine just oozes filament the whole time, and when I try to start a print it just goes to the near left part of the extruders travel space, oozes out an inch long string of plastic, and then smears it off on the side of the garbage shoot. Normally it lands under the build plate but sometimes it land on it.
Hasn’t been a problem yet since I can’t start a print without it retracting the filament and then telling me I don’t have filament. Weirdly non-functional printer for how much it cost.
