Ok as the title says I have filament stuck in the extruder head, I turned the machine off let it cool down and unscrewed the head.
Now i can see the filament but it’s just inside the top of the head, so now way to grab it with pliers.
will I be able to push it through if i reattach it and heta the head up and use a pin or something small enough to push it through or will that not work/ break my machine.
I’d rather not have to pull plugs out as I’m not sure If I’ll get them plugged back in correctly, as i have large hand and the usually don’t work well with small plugs.
Edit: I don’t have a lighter on hand so heating up a hex key isn’t an option right now.
tried heating it and having the new spool push it through but it didn’t work.
i ended up use a pair of pliers to hold a small enough hex key, to my gas stove and a pair stensons to hold the hot end and push the hex into the top, it got stuck twice. but i reconnected it to the printer heated it up to 220 and then turn the printer off unplugged it in fact and then disconnected the extruder and pull the hex out, it pushed out a small amount and as well as having some stuck to the hex key. hopefully that’s all of it.
The hole is too small to try and look through or shine a torch through.
Hopefully that’s done it. If you have some nylon, or cleaning filament, I’d try a cold pull or two. You should be able to see through the nozzle. You never said what filament it was. You get problems with a filled filament and 0.4 nozzle.
Doing a calibration test now, so far so good, it was giving me a hot end fan speed abnormal message, but it’s gone now, oh and the filament that was stuck was PETG rainbow.
I got the Bambu Lab P1S 0.4 stock nozzle that came with it.
currently at 18% of the rebuild got the PETG rainbow filament on the external spool holder, hopefully cutting the AMS out it will go smother( had a few other problems with the AMS.
Current blockage problems have only been happening to the PETG, all my PLA have worked fine.
