Filament Track Switch (FTS) H2D

Anyone else having issue with H2D and FTS. I printed the parts from Bambu. Including those lock clip thing which seem useless BTW. Install it all with new low friction PTFE tubes. and the lengths as per the WIKI and Left AMS is giving some error (which i need to dig into) And Right AMS the filament will not even make it to the FTS.

Anyone else having these sort of issue or am i just having a bad Sunday :slight_smile: And does anyone have any suggested fixes.

OH and FYI the auto setup did noting other than tell me i have FTS which needs to be setup. U had to set it up manual in the end.

Also, when you say “installed new low friction PTFE” - do you mean you used Bambu PTFE tubing, or something else?

Oh boy.

You need to recognize that the FTS introduces some additional resistance into the system, and if that extra resistance exceeds what the AMS can tolerate, you get exactly the issues you have now.

First, you are using 100% the wrong PTFE. From the Bambu Wiki:

The PTFE tubes we recommend have an internal diameter of 2.5 mm and an external diameter of 4mm. It is not recommended to use PTFE tubes with a different size, as this can cause additional problems when loading and unloading due to increased friction (for lower ID PTFE tubes) or feeding problems (when larger ID PTFE tubes are used).

Star PTFE like this is used in single filament bowden setups, it isn’t at all suitable for Bambu AMS setups. No, it doesn’t matter what the Creality website says about it being low friction. Your AMSes are telling you it isn’t.

Second, when you replace your PTFE with proper 2.5mm ID Bambu tubing, you need to correct your tube lengths. Your outlet from the FTS into the printer are too long, and your inlets from the AMSes into the FTS are too short.

It would be a good idea to review the Bambu Wiki prior to redoing your installation.
