I also think about turning an entire drawer into a drybox. I wouldn’t care too much about a vacuum, but instead have a very close look at the materials. Vacuuming your container actually doesn’t make much of a difference in the long run. Much more troublesome is the water vapor that diffusee through the plastic.

I plan to use Forex / PVC foam board instead of plastic bags for that reason. It is rather cheap easy to machine and one of the tighter materials for water vapor.
