I have an x1c with no AMS. I’m inputting filament into the single slot for x1c.
When loading the filament, I come to an error at step 3:
- Heat the nozzle
- Push new filament into extruder
- Grab new filament
- Purge old filament
The error reads:
“Please observe the nozzle. If the filament has been extruded, click “Done”; if it is not, please push the filament forward slightly and then click “Retry”. [07ff 8007 134705]
I will then slightly push the filament forward and I get the same error again. I did notice and recorded an odd sound that I suspect my gears are making.
I’ve taken the printer head/hot end assembly apart and there is no clog.
My filament sensor correctly senses that filament is there as it turns white when I manually pull the filament back.
When the filament is loaded, I can’t pull it back manually but I can have the extruder push it back up by selecting the up arrow.
However, the extruder will not push it out (down into the hot end) and selecting the down arrow does nothing.
Please help, I’m exhausted.

Have you checked the inside of the extruder for a broken piece of filament?
If you turn off the machine and remove the hotend, can you feed filament in the top and use the yellow gear to manually feed the filament thru and out the bottom? The sound you’re hearing is the stepper motor skipping steps because something is jamming it.
There is truly no filament in the extruder. That’s what’s so mind boggling. I’ve taken it apart several times.

Weird, only thing I can think of is the filament cutter possibly not retracting enough or a slight misalignment between the extruder and hotend.
Cut the end of your filament at a 45 degree angle using wire cutters or scissors. The sharp point threads through easier.

exactly the same problem, is there a solution?
It ended up being a clog. Filament had snapped and broken in the hallway where the printer head meets the extruder. Removing the extruder didn’t touch the broken filament, so I had no idea.

Thanks for the follow up info
I am having the same problem with my PS1. After taking apart the extruder several times then just replacing both the extruder and the nozzle. I still have the same issue.
Please observe the nozzle. If the filament
has been extruded, select “Done”; if it is
not, please push the filament forward
slightly, and then select “Retry”.

Filament Extruded, Continue
Not Extruded Yet, Retry
i have the same issue now with my p1s
