The surface of the drone has a funny texture and I find the typical label maker stickers come up fairly easy.
So I bought a whole bunch of Sim Dongle covers from your favourite chinese shop, and played with the laser a bit. Can’t get the whole ID in one line but I doubt it matters.
Love how it turned out.
Good idea, you save a gram for the sticker 
but that wouldn’t be allowed in Germany because the ID has to be fireproof for insurance reasons.

Great idea and nice execution, but if one day you decide to sell it, it’s not exactly the best…
@insanesoul1978 I ordered a bunch from AliExpress. Also ordered one directly from DJI - which was like 5 bucks
I never engraved the original - that I kept aside JUST in case … And funny enough - I just sold the drone lol
Sorry what isn’t allowed in Germany ? Surely engraving is more fireproof than a sticker ?

Sorry for the late reply. You have your engraving directly on your plastic part of your drone. The part melts in fire and the ID can no longer be recognized.
That’s why it’s only allowed in Germany if you attach a fireproof tag to the drone, in the case of a fire start with the drone, it is traceable who owns the drone. The stickers are not allowed with us if it is not fireproof.
But this can and will certainly be handled differently from country to countrytry.
Don’t get me wrong. I think the idea is really cool and would do it that way… if it was accepted.
