Hello can anyone tell me where I can get a co2 cylinder in the U.K.?
Are the sodaStream cylinder the same / compatible? I think there are old and new sodaStream cylinders?
Thanks for the help
Did you consider Amazon?
Google is also your friend.
Yes but what I can’t find out is are these sodaStream co2 cylinders compatible. With the Bambu specification
Thread type: TR21X4
- Volume: 0.6 L
- Diameter: 60 mm
- Length: ≤ 360 mm
- Working pressure: 15 MPa
Would you mind providing context and more details?
You posed a question and I answered it.
Now you have added more detail but without context.
What do you want exactly and why?
Hi
Ok I have just got the h2d fire extinguisher. I am based in the U.K.
Bambu labs do not sell the fire extinguisher with a co2 cylinder.
Bambu state the co2 cylinder must meet these specifications
Thread type: TR21X4
- Volume: 0.6 L
- Diameter: 60 mm
- Length: ≤ 360 mm
- Working pressure: 15 MPa
So I am simply try to find a source for these in the U.K.
My question is…
Are sodaStream co2 cylinders the same type / spec
Or does someone else in the U.K. know where we can get hold of these co2 cylinders
This thread might help.
You could always contact Sodastream UK and ask.
simplyextinguishers.com
all types
Good call asking sodaStream. Here is the response. I hope this helps others too.
Thank you for reaching out to Sodastream and sharing the details of your requirements.
Based on the specifications you provided:
- Thread type: TR21Ă—4
- Volume: 0.6 L
- Diameter: 60 mm
- Length: ≤ 360 mm
- Working pressure: 15 MPa
Here are the details for a standard SodaStream 60 L COâ‚‚ cylinder (UK):
- Thread type: TR21Ă—4 (matches your requirement)
- Volume: 60 L of sparkling water
- Diameter: ~64 mm (slightly larger than 60 mm)
- Length: ~377 mm (slightly longer than 360 mm)
- Working pressure: ~7 MPa in use, tested up to ~25 MPa (exceeds your 15 MPa requirement)
Summary:
The SodaStream cylinder is very close to your specifications, with only minor differences in diameter and length.
If these slight variations are acceptable, it should be compatible for your application.
The working pressure will make a big difference.
If you go the soda stream route, you need to have it charged to the correct pressure. (Assuming that the sodastream canister can hold that much reliably). The system will probably not work correctly at 7MPa. You can get this done at any welding supply shop.
Side note: N2 is better than CO2 if you can find it. (not sure if it would work in this system)
Thanks I mailed their support “ http://simplyextinguishers.com/ ” to see if they have one to match the Bambu spec’s.
Who knew this would be so hard to hunt down in the U.K.
Maybe I am the 1st in the U.K. to get a fire extinguisher?
Oh well the hunt will continue
Thanks all
Well no response from simplyfire extinguisher yet.
So I took a punt on a sodaStream screen in cylinder. I can report it’s the right thread. More or less (well more) the tight lengt but still fits. Only question mark is the pressure. I trying to find a garage with a co2 tank to check the pressure and refill it.
May even see if they have N2. And refill it with n2.
Ok so playing around. I fitted it and I can say it works. It really does work… But I can also say. it will ask you to do a test. which seems like a great idea. i thought… 1 - 2 sec test and I am good to go…
No… it empty the cylinder.
So off to buy another cylinder and next time it ask me to run a test. No thanks.
Hi @andy_malar i have purchased the same product and having major issues with finding a bottle fit.
I did try a soda stream bottle but found the thread to be extremely tight. Did you manage to get yours on or have to tighten it bit by bit?
Do you have any further updates to this at all please as would help loads.
Hi, so it turns out these use one of the to types of Standard Soda stream bottles. I am UK based and in the end I got mine from Amazon Uk.
Put this code into Amazon Uk.
| ASIN | B0DXL7VQMS |
|---|---|
425g CO2 Cylinders, Carbonates Up to 120L, Refillable Soda Makers, Fits Most Screw-Type Compatible Models, Efficient Carbonation for Water & Beverages, Compact & Cost-Effective (Pack of 2)
Around ÂŁ35 for two. These seems to work.
I also had an issue with the first version of the firmware where by the “TesT” acutally emptied my 1st bottle. after updating the firmware and adding a 2nd bottle lol.. the test did not empty the bottle. Just FYI.
You are the man, I’m also UK based and did try the soda-stream bottle but the thread was way to tight and i didn’t want to damage anything. i have searched high and low for the correct size and you confirming this has saved me massively, for anyone else with this issue here is the link to the bottles. amzn.eu/d/00Wg4RP
