Firmware 01.08.05.00 - Authorization Control is here

I knew of the plan that Bambulab wants to cripple the printers because they are either too stupid, malicious or both to properly secure their network (I never asked about cloud support). Chinese companies are and always will be sneaky. Their way of sneaking into networks is criminal and a government requirement. Bambulab may not want to be like that, but they have to be. Just like Huawei, they want to have control over everything that is in the WLAN. But I didn’t care about LAN mode until now because it was convenient to view the print job remotely. Well, those days are obviously over. Router blocked for this IP (inbound/outbound communication) I’ve just deleted all unnecessary Bambulab software on both my Mac and my phone, enabled LAN mode and installed Orca Slicer. Too bad I now have to recreate my filament profiles in Orca as I don’t know a way to export the custom profiles, but so be it, Orca Slicer seems to be the solution, at least in the medium term.
