The H2D Firmware page needs updated with the latest firmware.
H2D Firmware Release History shows 1.04 but only 1.03 is available for download.
Downloadable firmware is usually available several weeks after OTA firmware releases. I would expect it to be available mid September.
Because Bambu can’t possibly keep their crap straight and up to date. Makes zero sense not to have a wiki update properly.
Anybody know when we are getting 1.04?
I have my H2D on LAN mode and bought the filament switcher but 1.04 still hasn’t been released for download…
Is there a reason why you wouldn’t hotspot the printer, do the update, then put it back on LAN mode? Take out your USB drive if you’re really paranoid…
I get that some people “don’t want Bambu/China spying on what they’re doing” and that’s fine, I get it.
But how does connecting to the server for precisely as long as it takes to do a firmware update allow that to happen? Go back into LAN mode right after, and like I said, use a hotspot or a guest network so the printer can’t access your normal network.
If people are really that worried about what Bambu may do for that brief period of server connectivity, when no actual printing is being done - I’d point out that you’re still running Bambu firmware on your machine.
And you can block all the cameras also.
That’s the whole enchilada right there. By updating and running Bambu firmware, IF there’s going to be any misbehaving, all that’s happened is the footprint and methods are slightly different. You’re still compromised.
Added - not saying Bambu firmware is compromised or malicious. Just that a machine hitting a server to update firmware and one running that firmware are both pretty vulnerable to anything that server and firmware want to do. One difference though is firmware is its own evidence while someone would need to capture/sniff traffic to catch an attack there. Neither is much of an obstacle to the forensics folks.

I am on LAN mode because I use my own software to control the printers.
But as you said, it was easy enough to turn off LAN mode, update and turn it back on.
It’s been a month. Still waiting.
