Hi, I started my A1 today and a message advised that there was a firmware update waiting, so I selected to load. After it loaded I tried to run Studio and found that it will not display the Build Plate. I can blindly load, slice and print but cannot see the plate or the job that I’m printing.
I’m running Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS and have been for over a year without any problems until this update to the A1.
Is there a way to roll back the printer to the previous firmware level that worked? Or
Is there something that I can change to get the plate display back?
I haven’t seen this problem but to roll back the firmware go in the Handy app to the bottom of the firmware page…
Firmware seems a suspicious vector, the “plate” you see is just a jpeg attached to the printer profile. Try creating a new machine profile and see…
Hi Guys, thanks for the feedback. When I say that the build plate is not visible in Studio it is not just the plate, its also all of the functions related to the job, such as resizing, colouring, job arranging etc… The only options that you have is the Slice and Print buttons, but you’re working with a white screen.
I’ve rolled back the firmware to the previous version but the Studio is still the same after a re-start. I’m going to try reloading the Studio to see if it helps.
OK, I’ve rolled back the firmware update as suggested but that alone didn’t resolve the issue. I also had to remove and reinstall Studio before I could get it working as it should.
Many thanks to Printer Mcgee and Bullocks for your help.
Doesn’t anyone test these so called upgrades before they release them on the unsuspecting public?
I find that if you download and print from other’s 3MF files [specifically 3mf – like is common on makerworld] occasionally my slicer’s profile lists get just stacked with junk and the presets pile up and maybe get overwritten. I’m sure I hit save once when I shouldn’t have, but a good tactical reset every now and then helps.
You can “backup” your slicer settings via export menu, then delete-reinstall-import, if it becomes important.
