First - AMS completely failed. No recognition of AMS via X1C

Hello,
just two days ago, I was printing normally with my X1C and AMS. The night after, I tried to start the print remotely, only to find out that the AMS was offline. I unplugged and replugged all the cables and restarted the X1C several times. No change.
Today, I brought a multimeter from work and checked all the cables and connections. As soon as I powered it on, the left LED of the AMS lit up. However, nothing else happens. The AMS is still not recognized by the X1C. I also reinstalled the old firmware, but there were no changes. Does anyone have an idea what might be going on?

Basically you have power (and just enough processing to light turn on the LED), but no communication with the printer. Could be the communication cable is damaged, or the AMS electronics might be damaged.

Phu, might be but the cables seem ok. And the printer wasn`t moved, so why should a cable got broken after one year. Opend a ticket and send them to bambu.

Funny about it all, Slot 1 LED ist now on, If you put in filament it goes off, if you pull out again, it goes on again… I hope my ams is not broke :frowning: but should be within garantuee

If it is still under warranty they are likely going to try to get you to fix it by swapping out different boards inside. You can say no thanks, just repair or replace it.

Cable could have a bad connection inside, or have gotten snagged, squished, or anything that would break a connector or conductor…
Unfortunately, I haven’t seen a debugging guide for the AMS - and it does have a microcontroller inside. Hopefully Bambu Lab can give you more information to isolate the cause.

Still waiting for my Support Ticket to be answered. Anyone knows how long IT might take?
