First layer adhesion failure in same area

Close to the center left side of my A1 I am having first layer adhesion failure. I have tried washing the bed, using alcohol, several different filaments, and am frustrated. On smaller prints that do not use that section of the bed, perfect prints. My first attempt at larger prints over the same 2in area the filament does not stick at all to the textured PEI plate.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

You can lightly use an SOS pad, or one of those green scrubby to lightly scratch up that area…or…just use glue

Thanks. I’ll try that. Just seems odd it’s the same little patch.

Did you resolve your issue?

I’m wondering if there’s cold spots on the bed, and if there’s a way to test that. It’s hard to believe the entire heatbed is a constant temp, unless its in an enclosure.

Check the plate under running water or by lifting it out of water.
Running off with those areas behaving different means those areas ARE different.

Assuming you did wreck things with abrasive pad or such and the plate itself show no damage:
Clean like you do the dishes using a SOFT sponge, really warm water and dishwashing liquid.
Pay attention to those bad spots.
No improvement after a few rounds means the contamination would lift with soap, move on…

After drying the plate with a paper towel or such use a microfibre cloth and window cleaner, preferably the kind with a bit ammonia in it to clean the plate on a flat surface.
You want two cloths here, one use to clean, one to dry.
Apply just enough window cleaner so the cloth creates foamy streaks on the plate.
Rub evenly until those spots of concern disappear.
If it squeaks when rubbing dry under gentle pressure you know it clean.

Unless you got things like wax or body lotion onto the plate through your hands it should now be sticky everywhere again.
Confirm by checking under running water to see if it still runs off very differently in those bad spots.
If after this you still encounter issues really check those spots for signs of surface damage - sometimes the ‘clear coat’ can lift off and stay on your print.
No visible damage and a simple erase is often able to take care of what normal cleaning was unable to take off, especially if you add a drop of baby oil.
Means having to clean the oil residue off with alcohol of course…
