First Layer Bug if layer above has hole

I have a model with embedded magnets, so it sticks to a metal surface.
So the bottom layer should be solid then the holes for the magnets start on layer 2.
Bottom layer is .2 then all subsequent layers are .28.
The hole, in the model, does start at .2mm above the bottom layer.
I hadn’t sliced this model for a few months now so just sliced it with latest Studio (1.8.4.51) and the bottom layer does the holes but fills them in.
I hate this since it is much weaker to embed the magnets like this.
Searching for a solution so the bottom later is solid.

Just checked older versions and in version 1.76.92 this model would slice with a completely solid bottom later.
So what ever this change was it was introduced after that version.

Odd difference between slicer versions. Have you tried moving the bottom of the magnet hole to .21mm to see if that will trick the slicer into a solid bottom layer?

Yep, tried that, didn’t help.

Under quality → Advanced → Only one Wall on top surface → change to “not applied” or “topmost surface only”

That worked. But why?

(And now to get this post to greater than 25 characters)

My guess it sees the bottom of the hole as a top surface and places an inner wall anchor line on the layer below. The more wall loops you have in the strength settings the more anchor lines it will make. Btw it does the same in Orca slicer

Use invisible space characters for the 25 chars requirement:
