First time Bambu user experience

Hello!

I’m a 3d printing occasional hobbyist having built a few printers. Latest build was a Vzbot330 liquid cooled.

Anyway I wanted to share my experience and with this printer so far

Unboxed and hooked up without the manual. Super straightforward from my perspective.

I wish the nozzle filament pathswere identified on the side of the unit too, or maybe have it in the sticker pack

I had a hard time loading filament initially but got it after a little effort.

The led on the hotend should be ON when loading filament so it’s easier to confirm filament is purging.

AMS setup / config is a little confusing at first, I wish it was a little more clear in the initial setup how to get things going. I wish I could edit filament types etc from my mobile phone app.

Initial impressions: Build quality is excellent, feature set is excellent. Super impressed with the filament buffer Hall effect sensors, rough and fine cleaning of the nozzle and that whole setup.

Love how worry free it is to pause and resume prints.

My first print was polycarbonate with the heated chamber. Generic PC profile was perfect, I mean absolutely perfect.

After my first print I decided to do some stuff in PLA. While loading filament I had issues because the chamber and everything was still a bit heat soaked from the PC print. This caused the PLA to jam in the right extruder during loading, twice.

I realized after that it was my fault, and I successfully resolved without swearing!

Warnings should be displayed, or a lockout period (with an initial cooling mandatory lockout perhaps) whem trying to load this filament type of the chamber is hot.

So far I’ve had about 60 hours of print time (in 4 days) and everything has printed flawlessly. I had one warning during this period of an ams motor stall, and all I needed to do was double check a filament spool and resume.

I LOVE that I can just design stuff, hit print, and come back to finished parts.

I’ve noticed people with bed adhesion issues. I can’t recommend enough the vision miner nano adhesive. I use this on my other printers and it lasts for a long time, zero adhesion issues.

It has done a fantastic job with all the self calibrating features, and I have only used generic filaments with a perfect success rate, which can’t be asked for out of the box.

I value my time very high, and the small price of this printer pays dividends in my most precious resource - Time.

This is a great product, and I’m sure minor issues will get worked out in time,

Conclusion:

Amazing printer and features. Fantastic build quality. Easy to use, and relatively fast.

Suggestions:

Should suggest to users to season plate with appropriate adhesive

Should provide lockout and auto cooldown when loading PLA or other low glass transition temp filaments to prevent users from clogging a nozzle.

Should consider the workflows of the AMS, and make it a little more straightforward, so simple you can’t screw up. enhance access to the ams menus from the mobile app.

this has been my experience, and I wanted to share!
