First time setup PTFE buffer, coupler question

Long time multiple X1C user. Got my H2D 40w laser version delivered yesterday and unboxed and setup late last night. Maybe because I’ve only slept a few hours, but I have question that is unnecessarily bugging me. Inside the chamber you have the two orange buffers that feed PTFE tubes to the nozzles. Vertically between the two is a black tube with a black coupler at the end. Why?

I’ve seen some pictures and videos where it’s not there and some where it is. But I see no reference to it anywhere in wikis and can’t find any purpose. I turned to AI and asked and it said it’s likely a spare part. So I know this is most likely a non- issue and I shouldn’t let it bother me. But if there’s a point to it, why can’t I find any reference to it anywhere? If it’s only a spare part, why would they have engineered a design to hold it within the chamber when it’s about $.03 in common parts that could have gone in the parts box?

Am I crazy or missing something?

If you review the section regarding the laser, you’ll notice that this is actually the air intake. There’s a hose running from it directly to the laser module.

Ill also add that its only in place while using the laser and thats why sometimes you see it in pictures.

Oh wow thank you. I’m probably not going to get to the laser for a few weeks so didn’t see that.
