The original version of Bambu Handy displayed correctly when the iPad is in the landscape orientation which is the orientation I use most of the time.
Every version after that the screen is oriented sideways which makes monitoring a print less than ideal and MakerWorld unusable. I do any searching for models on my iPad, so MakerWorld gets a pass.
I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect Bambu Handy to display correctly in landscape orientation. Please fix it.
I would also ask for the share feature that works on the iPhone to work on the iPad. It is there, it looks like it works - it just doesn’t.
Handy on iPad is terrible, it should come with an age restriction warning for anyone who is between 3yo and 90yo. The only good part is I don’t need my reading glasses to use it 
I have just bought an X1c, everything is as I expected , seamless, works out of the box, and then… I came to install the app on my iPad Pro, its a disaster, please can this get some attention, maybe even a Bambu Studio for iPad 
As of today, there’s still no solution from what I can see. Can someone Bambu Support confirm this is in the works? It’d be nice to even use Bambu Studio on a iPad Pro too.
It is unfortunate Bambu Lab won’t make the change. I actually put in a ticket on it and they didn’t see it as important enough. I was surprised because Bambu Studio is such a delight to use.
It will take a lot of iPad users making noise to get their attention on this one.
It’s also the reason I don’t use MakerWorld. When I surf the net looking for models, I use Printables and Thingiverse because they work in landscape view on my iPad and display more models on the screen (4 is pretty lame in my opinion.).

Fixing the orientation is not that hard. Not enough people have complained which is why it’s not a priority. If a popular 3D Printing YouTuber mentioned it, I believe it would be fixed in short order. Ironically in the very first version of this app the orientation was correct.
Here we are, now in 2026 and this simple issue that Bambu broke in a release (as the rotation used to work correctly) is still broken. How is this still an issue with something that’s supposed to be as slick as Bambu?

I have been using Bambu Handy from the very beginning for my Kickstarter X1C Combo. The original version displayed correctly in landscape on my iPad and every version since does not. I requested a fix from Bambu Lab, but they decided it wasn’t important enough to fix. I suspect unless enough iPad users provide feedback, it won’t happen. I will continue to give them a 1 star review in the App Store until they fix it. I’m really surprised they won’t do it. Most iPad apps allow landscape view and are used in landscape view. Since i use my iPad for browsing, I rarely use MakerWorld since I have to rotate my iPad in the case for it to display correctly. It’s not worth my time.
Not sure if other users have been providing feedback.

They pretty much told me the same thing. The original version of Bambu handy actually worked properly on the iPad.
They don’t have to rewrite it for an iPad, there are ways to make the iPhone version work on an iPad, it’s not optimal, but it would allow you to monitor a print without everything being sideways. (That is what Anycubic did!)
A small minority of iPad apps only allow you to view portrait, so they have essentially blown off iPad users. Disappointing for sure, since everything else they do pretty much sets the standard.
Yes, it is very unpleasant to use this app in vertical portrait mode on the iPad with keyboards, can you please fix it?
Here we are in June 2026. You have just make a major update to the Bambu Handy app for IOS, both iPhone and iPad but the orientation issue is still not fixed for the iPad. I use an iPad pro in the landscape orientation all the time and Handy is annoying that it is not setup to work landscape. Come on Bambu!!!
I forgot about this post and need to amend - being able to watch the print on my iPad was important.
I don’t know when the feature was added but touch the video display in Handy and there is a button to take it full screen. Works like a charm and solves my issue with it completely.
I couldn’t agree more. Even the far inferior Anycubic app on my iPad figured out how to orient their app correctly in landscape on the iPad. Are you paying attention Bambu?
Came here to request this. Sad to see this discussion was started over two years ago and Bambu just says there’s no demand for it.
There are roughly 300 million active iPad users. Of those, about 90 million are iPad Pros. So probably 120-150 million iPad users with keyboards overall.
That’s a big installed base to write off, even if it’s not as big as phones.
Have you seen the button to take the video full screen? I think it appeared last update but don’t know that. I just know I hadn’t seen or noticed it before.
If it’s missing the full-screen video in landscape, touch the video and a button should appear to go full screen. It’s not exactly what I wanted but is really just as good for my purposes.
Thanks for pointing out the full screen video trick which puts the video in landscape; very helpful. Watching it sideways on the screen is less than optimal.
It doesn’t excuse not making the app fully functional. Anycubic figured out how to do it on their iPad app!
