They appear to be having some problem with their website.

It’s a US $4,000 machine that I would describe as a “poly jet”. So a full colour 3d printer using UV resin.

I have an aversion to the Mark 1 of anything, am waiting for the beta to be over.

Their marketing is a bit disingenious. Smiling family clustered around the machine in a living room, that kind of thing. In reality the thing is enclosed under a fume hood …

I think there might have been some post-processing.

The surface finish is different. Some figures are matte and some gloss. They have both matte and gloss resins? Also I suspect some of the glossier ones might have been hit with an ink wash (to shade the recesses) and a layer of varnish over the top.

They’ve dropped from $ 4.5kUS to $4k US (or so they claim…unless it was their selling strategy all along)… still to costly for my wallet’s taste…So, unless (and until) they drop further, say like around $2k or so, I’m not that interested in it.

4K USD is indeed expensive for a consumer machine, but a Mimaki is 20K and upwards

Also 4K is still cheaper than Warhammer $40,000 :slight_smile:
