After taking down the only print profile on one of my favorite models due to the print profile having no real print image included, I realized that this model contains only the 3mf only on a print profile, which sadly vanished from this model due to a takedown of the print profile. Therefore, the button only said “How to Get STL Models?”, which makes the model impossible to download.
To prevent discouraging the others who is willing to print this in the future, I was FORCED to reupload the taken down print profile, this time with a real print image attached to it.
If there is only 1 print profile on a model and see this icon on the “Download STL/CAD Files” button, the “How to Get STL Files?” button will appear on this model when the only print profile becomes no longer public.
Most users upload print profiles without any real print images to intentionally violate community guidelines to upload a print profile fast to prevent time wastage. However, this doesn’t fit MakerWorld’s rules to demonstrate printability on print profiles. The solution is to look for models with no real print images, with only 1 print profile uploaded by the designer. If there is no real print images included and you see the “!” looking icon on the “Download STL/CAD Files” button shown on my post’s second picture, then IMMEDIATELY download this model using any one of the 3 buttons shown. The only print profile will be taken down anytime and will cause this model to be useless since it becomes impossible to download. Since you now have the file, you can test print it and upload back the print profile.
The cause is when only the 3mf file is attached to an violating print profile, and no other files, it’s like the 3mf trying to stay on the cliff as the print profile is getting taken down by MakerWorld destroying the cliff. This causes the file to also be taken down. Unless if there is other STL and CAD files attached to the model, other users who haven’t downloaded this model yet would not appreciate it when the only print profile gets taken down.
Considering you need to print the model to make sure it works, it takes you 30 seconds to snap a photo with your phone before uploading it, there is no time wastage there
