Foreign printer profiles; Prepare Tabs; Device tabs

I have seen there are a couple of topics on the printer tabs subject in Bambu Labs Studio. I would like to share my two cents on this.

I am a beginner when it comes to 3D printing, but i have worked with software all my life so I have a few suggestions for the bambu studio.

First of all, whenever i am adding a project from Makerworld, it automatically adds another BBL printer which, for some reason, it becomes my default printer, even though i dont own an X1C…
Having an A1mini would make this obvious, but as of the A1 being added to the collection, this became a bothersome task to work with.
I have to go into the add printer menu - add said printer - save the config - then go into the same menu - unselect the printer so i dont have it in my printer list. Why!? There should be a question pop-up before adding the printer, like: “This profile was made with an X1C, would you like to add this printer profile?”

Second, we should be able do open multiple projects at the same time. Now that i’ve added a second printer in my collection, i have multiple projects that im working on at the same time. It take way to long to close a profile and go open another one, especially with my Intel i3 laptop. ( I know, i should upgrade, but i wanted Bambu Lab’s printers first.)

Thirdly, instead of having multi-device tab, which if you ask me, is almost unnecessary ( i barely use it) there should be a progress bar with the progress of each printer in it, and definitely printer tabs in the DEVICE TAB. The drop-down menu is not the right way to go with this.
I have an A1 and an A1 mini… you can see how this is confusing right? of maybe its my dyslexia. ( i did renamed them, but still… NO CAPES…i mean. drop-downs… this is not excel)

Oh yeah, and before i forget. Skipping objects in Studio is not a feature yet?! You need to tell me that if i dont have Bambu Handy i cant skip items if they fail?

So, i hope this actually gets implemented because it would make our lives so much better.

Thank you in advance

The handling of imported 3MF files certainly could be better, more intuitive and logical…
I would make sense to have the option to just import the model with the current machine and process/filament settings.
After which the user has the option to assign their filaments and to selectively deal with all print and process settings the creator of the file might have different.
So I hear you and feel/share your pain…

The Bambu way makes a lot of sense based on their sales and makerworld models.
But it lacks the flexibility and user friendliness we expect from a machine in this price range and the software it is supposed to run on.
While A1 series certainly won’t qualify for the higher end of things your example is spot on.
The rest, like progress bars and such might come down to user preferences and features…
On the end running more than a hand full of machines at once and at any given time of the day certainly requires a better support than what we currently have.
Personally I would prefer a more browser like approach.
Having just one instance of Studio but with a tab for each printer while being able share common things, like for printing the same model on several machines at once or printing multi-part/plate models on different machines at once rather than on one machine in sequence…
Bambu keeps making improvements for print farm and high volume users though…
