Forum is unfriendly to new users

I am having this same issue, joined to help me troubleshoot some issue with my new printer as someone who is new to the 3D printing world and Bambu. Yet I am stuck not being able to use this forum to ask my question because I cannot post. Any idea what I need to do to finally be able to post my problem?

Just some background for those frustrated by the requirements - there were a number of essentially attacks on the MW forums with junk/scam posts at various times and these barriers (it’s what they are) were necessary to frustrate those who posted all the junk.

It’s not fun and definitely gets in the way, but makes it much nicer here. Thankfully you only have to jump through the hoops once.

The worst part is newcomers may not even know why they can’t post or can’t post attachments. The information is there but not so easy to sort out for new folks. Just know it wasn’t implemented just for grins. The scammers/spammers made it necessary.

It’s a pretty useless system. Unexplained gatekeeping is a good way to prevent engagement.

Every other major manufacturer can control the spam/junk. It’s just typical of Bambu to take shortcuts anywhere and everywhere they can!

why can’t you just let users post from the beginning

This is your protection against bots and spammers. All you have to do is this, and it really doesn’t take more than 10 minutes:

Get to trust level 1 by…

  • Entering at least 5 topics
  • Reading at least 30 posts
  • Spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts

When I look at your profile, I see that you already have the appropriate rank :+1:

Where did you read that? Posting crap just gives you a reputation as a crap poster. It does not boost your trust level at all.

I think posting crap is pretty impressive… I mean, to get a solid into digital form is quite a feat.
