"Free Shipping" over $89 doesn't tell the whole story

Just a PSA

Be aware, the new “Free Shipping” limit of $89 in the US is a little deceiving (if not completely wrong).

If you spend $90 dollars on filament and or accessories… that would qualify, but if you buy a printer or AMS and less than $89 on filament and accessories, you’ll be charged for both the AMS and the filament separately. For example, an AMS HT has a flat rate $18 hipping charge regardless of the price of the order and adding a roll of filament will roll on an additional $6.99 shipping cost even though the total price is well over $200.

So, just be aware some items are completely not counted towards other requirements. Not the end of the world… just know going in that shipping fees will effectively apply to most categories separately.

And if you purchase 2 or more items in the same category, shipping adds up. A 2 AMS order will be charged $40 of shipping.

Ouch… hadn’t thought of that, but it definitely fits their pricing model.

Items like AMS have always been seperate from the Free shipping limit.

Could be, never had a situation where I had to check. But when you read the marketing on the top of the page, its written in a way that suggest any “order” over $89 gets free shipping.

But like everything Bambu, you have to disregard the advertising and look for the exceptions, or in this case, the left out details. They make it easy to find in this case, but there’s nothing in the advertising to say that things can be different to what is advertised.

I just found that there was no free shipping on printers. That’s insane, given their cost and recent price increases. I just put one in my cart and when I saw that it would be $27 at least for shipping, I stopped and I’m buying another brand.

While I understand why they don’t offer it for printers, I just feel like they should mention it on the marketing (not the fine print found on separate resources). The idea that you are be able to market something and put the ownness on the user to find your real policy is not legit. Even an asterisk would go a long way to say, “Hey, there’s more to it”, but that’s not on there either. Makes you wonder if they are purposely trying to mislead you, or if its the culture difference.

Communication and honesty are not common traits for Bambu Lab.

They might find that harsh, but when it occurs so many times and gets called out so many times, and they do nothing, they are the problem, and they have no excuse.

I called them out repeatedly for dishonest sale prices, and those continue.

Take the A1 mini, for example. This is the U.K. price page.

It suggests the A1 mini is £169 down from the ‘normal’ £269.

Yet, the A1 mini price was permanently reduced during a massive advertising campaign, bragging about it.

This was also the same price charged during the last sale and the prior one, and so on.

Who does this serve to help? Them, nope, us, nope, new people, nope.

The delivery charge is annoying as it confuses new people and old-hats alike who have yet to experience it.

It serves only to push people away who find this dishonesty dishonest.

Before the competition caught up, they could get away with it; these days, it pushes people to other brands.
