Fused PLA Basic

I was printing with my roll of Black PLA basic and was down to the last 200g when it got jammed in the AMS and wouldn’t feed. Upon closer inspection of the filament it seems that the last 200g of the pool are fused together and the strands will not separate. This is not a refill it was purchased on the spool. No amount of massaging or prying will separate the strands and I believe that this roll may have been what has killed my AMS.

What do you mean “killed” your AMS?

It won’t feed any filament from any of the slots. The filament gets moved a short distance and then grinds and takes chunks out of the filament. Printing via the AMS is no longer possible from any slot. The support ticket I raised requests that I pull apart the AMS hub and see what has happened in there.

Just an idea, but is it possible there is a piece of filament broken and Jammed in the PTFE tube causing the filament to get stuck which causes the extruder gears to take chunks out of the filament instead of moving it along?

That is the first thing that I looked at. I pulled the AMS apart and checked all the PTFE tubes for blockages and there wasn’t anything present. I put it back together and then fed filament into slot 1, 2, and 4 as 3 was originally clogged.I started a print and none of the filaments were fed from any slot.
