Fuzzy Skin Parameters not available when painting Fuzzy Skin

Hi folks.

I tested the new Fuzzy Skin painting option.
It is exactly what I needed for a new project.
It works like a charms, … except for the parameters.

Global Fuzzy Skin is set to None and I painted some areas of my model.
It render as intended when sliced and other areas a smooth.

But the two parameters Fuzzy skin point distance and Fuzzy skin thickness can’t be change unless I activate the globale Fuzzy Skin parameter.

If I activate the global parameter and change the values to tweak the render and deactivate the global parameter, it seems to apply my custom values to the painted areas.

The easy fix is to always display the parameters.
Or to display them if there is Fuzzy Skin painted on at least one part in the project.

Best Regards.

Thanks for the tip. I was trying to figure this out the other day!

I’d love to see these parameters in the fuzzy skin painting menu. It’d be great if you could apply different parameters to different parts of the model, much like how you can paint a model different colours in different areas.

And different textures other than fuzzy skin would also be a plus!

How do you have the parameters always showing without applying fuzzy skin to the whole model? Whenever I turn on the parameters it overrides the painted areas and applies it everywhere.

It is the trick, actually you have to enable Fuzzy Skin main parameter (globally or on the object) to be able to access and modify the advances parameters.
then, when you disable the Fuzzy Skin main parameter, but it apply the modified advanced parameters to the painted area only,

When I’m painting fuzzy skin on multiple objects on one build plate, even if disabled, the Fuzzy Skin is on “None”, the others parameters are not displayed.
But if the values of these parameters are modified the modified values marker is displayed aside the object Fuzzy Skin main parameter, even if it is on “None”
(the modified value marker seems to work only with object settings, not in the global parameters view)

Thank you for taking the time to explain. For anyone in the future reading:

First, you’ll have to paint Fuzzy Skin onto your object on the build plate.

Second, go to the Objects settings Others tab, change the Fuzzy Skin main parameter to any value besides “None”, change the point distance or thickness values, then change the main parameter back to “None”.

Afterwards the Fuzzy Skin main parameter will have the modified value icon next to it (an orange unlocked symbol).

Thanks, not very intuitive

It seems they fixed it in the last release?
The “None” option is renamed '"None (Allow paint)"and the other parameters remain displayed.
