On here we have been talking about a possible discount for other printers. And someone mentioned about abusing the system to just get the discount. Where they would buy a A1 and cancel their order to just get the discount to order what they really wanted. I looked into it, and this is impossible since you can’t order the A1 at all. From my understanding official stores have taken it out of their stores for now.
I figure I should mention this since I didn’t know, and obviously others didn’t know this like the one that mention about abusing the system (and due to this they can’t since they can’t order it)
Well ya obviously. But I REALLY want a discount to upgrade my printer. And I don’t want to give Bambu any reason not to do it. Like I’ve been trying to point out how it will make them money, how it will cause good PR, etc.
Although it was intended as a joke, like they say, there’s some truth in all humour.
I imagine there’s quite a lot of people who would be rubbing their hands together at the thought of being able to cash in and upgrade to a P1S or X1C at a discounted price instead of the A1 which they bought because they couldn’t afford the better machines at the time. I think those are the ones being the most vocal about how they feel they are being victimised by Bambu’s explanation and subsequent offer to fix the machine plus (only) a free roll of filament.
Keep in mind even with a full refund, you aren’t getting anything cheaper than the A1 unless if you go for the mini.
Like if you get a refund and want to jump to the p1s, you’re still going to pay something like $900 or whatever. It’s just, you can use your refund + a few hundred more.
Like it isn’t a 1:1 swap. Meaning Bambu would make a ■■■■ ton off of this. And the normal discounts from my understanding is normally about that. So it is realistic.
The whole things sucks. I need a multicolor printer now and am not happy about spending the 1000 on a p1s just to deal with the original ams issues. Wonder when they will resume sales of the a1
When they figure out the problem, engineer the correct cable system, and put it into production. Honestly I’m surprised at their projection of end March for user replacements
I had submitted a question about when it will be available again in the US, and they emailed me back a few moments ago and said, “The new version of the A1 is expected to be available around May, but I am unable to provide a specific date at the moment”
