I have the problem that the brim / edge of the first layers goes beyond the printing plate limits due to the automatic support generation. So the actual object fits on the printing plate, but as soon as the support is activated, BambuStudio 1.7.4.52 creates an additional border / rim, which then goes beyond the printing plate border.
According to Wiki Brim | Bambu Lab Wiki should be able to reduce or even deactivate this border in the settings. Unfortunately this doesn’t work, BLS ignores the setting when slicing. Maybe someone knows advice?
From my understanding Brim is generated from the model and not from the support so turning it off won’t change the support size.
Have you tried Tree style supports?
You may also try playing with the “Normal support expansion” setting in Support/Advanced (1.7.4.52) Using a negative number “should” shrink support size.
Thanks for your response. And yes, with the tree support, the slice is generated without errors. Also, thanks to your information, I’ve now found that Brim is something different than what I suspected. I’m pretty new to 3D printing and will now try the tree support structure.
