Gaps and not smooth out layers

Images of the final print using esun pla
Nozzle temps @220, textured plate at 55
Changed fan speed to 80
retraiction length at 1
zhop at .4
retraction speed at 40
Ideas?

I would highly recommend both drying the filament and checking for a partial clog in the nozzle

i did dry it…will have to go back and clear the nozzle to make sure…thanks…

Take a look at the nozzle with a magnifier. It may be worn and partially blocked.

thanks for the assist in this…think it’s more the filament and not the extruder or hotend… I printed the same object using bambu pla and got a clean print…

How did you dry it and how long? What temp? Did you weigh it before and after? Does your dryer have a fan? A lot of dryers just kinda make the air hot and leave the filament sitting in the moist air.

I would personally recommend weighing it, then drying at 50C in a dryer with a fan for at least 12 hours, then weighing again. Your filament looks like it fell in a pool with it’s clothes on

I didn’t weigh it…but using a sunlu dryer…had it at 55C for 12 hours. And boy did it ever look like it was in the pool!!
