Dear all,
My 3D printer is BambuLabs X1 Carbon with latest firmware and Bambu Studio.
I have problems with the top layer quality:
As you can see there are small gaps between the paths. The surface is not closed. On the first layer I have that problem as well but not that bad.
I used standard settings for printing using BambuLabs PETG HF grey and enabled bed leveling and flow dynamics control.
I remember in the beginning I never had such problems.
It seems like underextrusion. What can be the reason here?
Thanks for any help!
Looks to me like your flow is too low on the entire print. that’s why you can see the lines so clearly on the top surface too. Increasing flow should fix the gaps.
@byStine:
Thank you for your answer. As I mentioned before, I didn’t have these gaps when I started with the X1 about 1 year ago.
So something must have changed (technically) to cause these gaps.
What could be the technical reasons for this so that I can have a look?
Of course I can increase the flow in the settings, but that only combats the symptom, not the cause.
I would try running a flow calibration on the print before start, to see if that helps. Sometimes the calibration finds the wrong setting, depending on light and the color of the filament. A re-calibration might work well
@byStine,
thanks again, but as I mentioned I already activated ‘flow dynamics control’ is this same as ’ flow calibration’ what you mentioned?
What about a mechanical problem like loose belts or dirty nozzle?
Can they cause such gaps?
