Give this wiper a try. Don't be scared

I’ve been using this for about a month now. Signed up on Patreon. Yes there’s a fee for the complete setup but I’ve had no flung poop, and no bits laying around.

Also has some tricks in the gcode that you may find helpful.

Yes you have to drill into the printer. If you change your mind you can easily print plugs that look great to fill the holes.

Give it a try. There are copy cats, people stealing half the idea. This is the original.

What is on the Patreon, aren’t the design and the gcode on makerworld?

You get the basic files on MW with the basic start gcode.

Backers also get updates, and more options. Quicker startup, eventually adaptive leveling (only where you’re printing, can’t remember what ist’s called. Available on older firmware right now), and some others. Check out the patreon for full details.

I took the jump and screwed the wiper in, drilling holes. It has to be screwed in, something those that try the copycats are going to find out when they use tape.

It’s not expensive, and he does updates quickly as well as keeps everyone informed.

I’m a cynical bastard, and I like the guy…

Thanks, honestly I have been wanting to upgrade the wiper, but can’t get past the drilling holes part. This seems like a better option to me: X1/P1 Compatible A1 Wiper Carbon Filter Mount by LiamRay10 - MakerWorld

Well even if you don’t want to add the wiper and still buy the code, there are options you can toggle that are useable with the stock set up, although won’t help with the wiper.

Watch the vids on the MW page. He does a good job of describing the options and how it works.

I noticed that he mentions non AMS P1S. It does now work with the AMS on the P1S and the X1C.

That’s one of the copy cats, essentially stole most of it from him.

Use at your own risk.

Yeah I would much rather use his, but I can’t find that part on Bambus website, and I don’t really want to drill holes into a part I can’t replace.

You’ll find that tape or filter doors won’t cut it. If the screws aren’t your thing then I’d wait

I have printed and mounted the wiper, no problem.

The files include a “Basic Wipe Cycle.gcode” but there appears to be nothing that I can find that tells you where to paste this in the various GCODE text boxes that are in Orca Slicer.

Am I missing something as I have watched loads of videos and googled and can find no reference to this.

There is a link to documentation, however that documentation looks incomplete where the instructions are listed as being " 3. G-Code Overview and Setup, however the documentation ends at section 2.3.

Pick a nozzle setting. Choose to edit the nozzle and you will then see a tab for machine code.
Click on that tab and you will then see the different boxes for start, end etc.

Cut and paste into those boxes whichever you want to use. Be sure to delete the current code and paste the new in. Then save the nozzle renaming it to whatever you wish.
