Considering the Bambu Studio project tab has become useless, are there any alternatives within the software? Ideally, I would love to be able to enter information in the project tab, like a costing sheet, materials, accessories etc. independently of uploading it to maker world or not.
Since that is not available, I would like to record the specific make and colors of the filaments used on each of my plates, so I can easily access them when I go back to reprint this plate in a print farm scenario. I have a separate spreadsheet to do this, and sometimes I add it to the plate description, but this is not the ideal solution.
Having an added button next to each plate, where you can add “plate notes” to each plate would be great for example.
Is there any use to the project tab, or I’m i doing something wrong?
I think it is pretty stupid that BBL is not able to fix somthing simple as the project parameters.
SHAME on BBL
Remove the tab if you are not planning to fix it within a few weeks
It makes no sense. I’ve heard they are planning more functionality for users with multiple printers, guess what? Users with multiple printers, usually re-print their plates. How about giving them a place to store those settings and materials used… Or remove the tab all together…
The Studio Project tab is useless without going through Makerworld. Bambu is unlikely to change this. It is possible to mark a Makerworld upload as private if you do not want to share the project.
You can also add text Notes to Process presets at the bottom of the Others tab.
The OrcaSlicer Projects tab allows local editing of project info by adding various file types (image text, PDF, spreadsheet). OrcaSlicer also allows for Notes in the Process preset.
If you use both slicers, Orca will open Bambu projects to view Project info, Studio will only load OrcaSlicer geometry. OrcaSlicer projects cannot be uploaded to Makerworld. Neither slicer will show Notes entered in the other slicer.
