Go live and no ffmjpeg.sdp file

I’m trying to play with Go live. I switched it on and followed the instructions but I can’t find the ffmjpeg.sdp file or any camera tools folder.

Any ideas?

What platform are you on?

I’m on a Mac and I have the same issue - no ffmjpeg.sdp file.

Actually - I found it.

On the Mac, it is in [user home]/Library/Application Support/BambuStudio/cameratools
A quick way to open this folder is to use Help->Show Configuration Folder (which I had missed in the wiki page, but is there)

Now to see if I can use it…

Yes, I did find it in the end. But I never managed to get it working with OBS. I’m pretty sure I followed the instructions to the letter but I just get a blank screen.

was that on the source side? I had to set the protocol whitelist options (you might need to scroll down to see them).

I’m able to use OBS to record, but streaming to a third party site hasn’t worked very well yet - that could be a bandwidth issue from where I am though.

Did you ever find a solution? I have tried this many times and just get blank screen as well.

My interest in Go Live is to monitor my prints in a simple re-sizable window on my large PC monitor (TV), without the Studio controls taking up space. I had some problems getting this to work (again).

I tried it several months ago, and with some YouTube coaching, had it working for a short time. I recall it was a very complicated process, and I gave up on it. Bambu now has a decent Wiki to explain a simpler method: Streaming video of Bambu Printer | Bambu Lab Wiki

But, I did not have the Studio camera tools folder, and I was not being prompted to install it. I cannot find the files available as a separate installer or download, and re-installing Studio did not help produce the add-in prompt. BAMBU NEEDS TO MAKE THE FILES AVAILABLE OR PROVIDE A WAY TO FORCE INSTALLATION OF THE TOOLS!

I do also use OrcaSlicer, and when I activated Go Live in that program, I did get the offer to install the camera tools. With that installed, OBS and VLC both work to monitor my prints in a re-sizable window. In Windows VLC, just open the file C:\Users\username}\AppData\Roaming\OrcaSlicer\ffmpeg.sdp

But it bothered me that Studio was not working. I then copied the entire camera tools folder from
C:\Users{username}\AppData\Roaming\OrcaSlicer\cameratools
to
C:\Users{username}\AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\cameratools

Pointed at the ffmpeg.sdp file in the correct Bambu folder, that actually works. (Only one of those ffmpeg.sdp files is usable at a time)

Though it seems you do need to at least start the slicer to activate Go Live monitoring, the slicer can then be closed. The “stream” will be available until the computer is turned off (logged off?), which de-activates Go Live.

This would be so much easier if we could just point our browsers to a printer IP and port. At least now I can now monitor prints in VLC using either cloud or LAN-only modes, and using full screen makes it easy to check on details of the print.

well thanks but that fix didnt work for me, i tried copying over the cameratools folder, maybei needto restart everything? it keeps saying “not supportedby printer” or whatever, i mean come on the a1 has na canmera and i know its supported, i hate having to usea cheap 56 dollar usb webcam or ip cam trhat works great from any device liek alfred cam lol works so much easier, why the hell is this thousand dollar device so hardto get a 1 dollar webcam working? its insane.
