About $5/kg in China
Wow, I thought you were joking at first. There’s almost no info on the internet about this. Have you tried it yet and if so what do you think?
Oooh. I’ve never printed with PLA Lite.
I just bought them to read the RFID tags, I guess I could open one and print it. It’s their bargain, non-high speed PLA and not anything special other than cheap. Wouldn’t be surprised if it never sold in North America.
Would certainly like to know who made it though.
Hi! I was also trying to do some research on the PLA Lite vs Basic and this thread is somehow almost the only mention of the Lite on the internet.
We have a lot of this PLA Lite on Russian marketplaces actually, I already used a whole Jade White roll of it (ordered it on 12th of June).
It costs about the same as PLA Basic but is a nice matte color, compared to a more plasticky and transparenty looking PLA Basic (at least for Jade White).
That was my first BambuLab filament purchase and it’s really good - looking forward to getting more of it
In Bambu Handy app is also an official profile for Bambu Lab PLA Lite available; simply click on Use my filament presets
Cheers
It’s actually quite nice. Prefer its finish over PLA Matte, and in my experience strings less, warps less. Layer adhesion is PLA Wood level bad, but who cares when it’s so cheap.
I suspect lower strength was due to using recycled PLA resins, but the colors are quite pleasing and hides layer lines better than Matte imo.
lol last winter, my mom got a buncha filament from dis chinese store called taobao. i didnt notice the label, so when it was already shipped, i just noticed it was pla lite. so now i have like 13 refills of it sitting in my hous rn ![]()
Why can’t I find any on the US site for PLA Lite? saw it on Chinese TikTok; the video said it was cheaper and maintained most of the functions from PLA Basic.
