I’m doing routine maintenance on my H2C and both cutter lever torsion springs (left and right) came loose during blade replacement. I’m trying to figure out how to reinstall them correctly.
Looking at the two springs side by side, they’re not identical: one has its two legs close together at roughly a right angle to each other, while the other spring’s legs are spread further apart, closer to a wide V shape.
Does anyone know:
- Which spring (based on that leg spacing/angle) goes on the left cutter lever vs. the right?
- For each spring, which leg (the longer arm vs. shorter arm) hooks into the small hole on the cylinder, and which leg rests against the lever itself?
- Does the long arm specifically go on the left side or the right side, or does that depend on which spring it is?
The official wiki page (Replace H2D/H2C Filament Cutter Lever and Blade) says to place the spring over the cylinder with one end in the small hole, but the photos aren’t detailed enough to tell the arm lengths or left/right orientation apart. Would appreciate a close-up photo from anyone who’s done this repair, or any tips on telling the springs apart before reinstalling. Thanks!
