I just received this exact one from Amazon. The connector to the AMS feels very loose. Has anyone confirmed this is OK? Another question, if using an external power supply on the AMS Pro AND turning off the printer, should the AMS still have its lights on? On this one, the AMS did not show any signs of power with just the external supply hooked up. Im gonna check the output before I return as thereās always a chance of DOA, but the loose connector worries me.

It can be over because the load being the AMS pulls only what it needs. So, can be over amps but not under. Volts x Amps = Watts
Not exactly, it canāt dry while writing without the power supply.

Hello, I use these for my AMS 2 Pro H2D and H2C
My friend bought the HOUHUI brand power supplies and they seem to work fine. However, they are not certified for use in Canada (CSA approval) and therefore are not allowed to be sold in Canada (technically speaking). He contacted them and they dismissed him with no willingness to do anything. The cost difference in Canada for this uncertified PS is about $14 CAD (under $10 USD). Much better to pay the minor difference for peace of mind and just buy the Bambu power supply. The other risk is if you need the AMS warranteed and you tell them you use an aftermarket power adapter, thatās just giving them a potential reason to deny warranty on the AMS.
My printer shop is downstairs, about 60% of it is below grade, so the room is pretty humid in soite of dehumidifier and AC units running. I need to run the filament heater while it prints, so the external power supply for my AMS 2 Pro is a necessity, not an accessory for me. Following this forum, I bought one of those external supplies from AMAZON that were recommended. Worked well for about 3 weeks. Then started intermittently dropping the heating cycle long before the 12 hours were up. By week 6, I was having to turn the filament heater on every 2 hours. My guess is the output amperage in this China budget power supply drops off as it gets hot, and the AMS errors out. So I just bit the bullet and ordered the āreal dealā from Bambu. Be here in a week. What I am hoping is that Bambu has them made for themselves at a higher tech spec, and likely higher quality. It cost more, until I consider the lost projects and my time. I almost went and ordered a second AMAZON power supply to replace this oneā¦. until I realized that the total cost of the 2 units (not including the headaches) was more than just buying one good one. I will report back after I get the Bambu power supply and run it for a couple weeks. Fingers crossed.
Well, it didnāt take long to determine that the new power supply from Bambu was superior to the AMAZON unit. First I noticed the lights in each spool position that glow when the heater is on were much brighter. Iād never seen them this bright before. Nice! Then, the heat cycle on the AMS went the full, unbroken 12 hours without any interruptions. With the AMAZON power supply it would stop drying in 2 hours sometimes, 4 hours sometimes, and 20 minutes sometimes. Ugh! So hats off to Bambu for having the better spec and quality in the AMS power supply.
