H2D anticipated demand on April 22?

Given the current trade climate and recent price trends, should I purchase the Bambu Lab H2D 3D printer now or wait:

Price Trends:

  • The H2D AMS Combo was priced at $2,199 in early March 2025.
  • By April 8, the price increased to $2,399.
  • As of now, it’s listed at $2,699.

Also, what are your thoughts on purchase from Micro Center instead of direct from Bambu Lab? any pro/cons on this?

I would buy at Micro Center if I could, but I’ve never seen one in stock here in Indiana. As for whether or not to buy now, buy it if you really need (or want) and can afford it. But it’s just like gambling; don’t be upset if the price goes back down (same as not gambling money you can’t afford to lose).

I placed an order from the last batch.

If I hadn’t ordered on March 25th at the original price, I’d cancel my order and buy from Micro Center, so that if I got a lemon I’d have a much easier time of returning/exchanging it.

With all the lemons going around I am going to try to buy at Microcenter

The current tariff premium on the combo is $700 (35%). So if it doesn’t go up before the sale opens it could be a long time before you ever see them that cheap again.

Cons, isn’t Bambu still requiring warranty to go thru the reseller? I don’t know if that is still true, but it sounds like a con.

Pros, it’s big and expensive, so if it is broken it’s easy to take it back for a refund. But they are unlikely to have a replacement unit for you. Then again neither is Bambu.

Word in the industry is that they have cut way back on bringing in more of the older printers and the warehouse is emptying. They are bringing in more H2Ds and should have a few thousand on hand, roughly on par with launch day. To clarify, they are not bringing in H2Ds instead of the older units, those are just a dribble compared to the classic models.

Unfortunately can’t time the current market given the volatility of the current tariff restrictions.

I was planning on buying a H2D but opted for the a pre-tariff price for the X1C.

$2,399 today when I just purchased online. May 7th shipping!

It looks like you were lucky. The price has been adjusted back up to $2699. I ordered mine two weeks ago for $2399 and still have a May 9th shipping estimate.

Same boat. Was tempted to order another at 2399 for the faster 5/7 shipping

I wonder why they did that? Seems odd. Maybe previous orders that did not complete with their choice of payment?

Either they have more units available this time or not as many buying but it is 18 minutes after the hour and you can still add them to your cart. Two weeks ago they lasted only a few minutes.

No one is buying because of the price

Somehow when I ordered just now I got it for 2399. No clue why.

You will probably be getting an email here soon I don’t think bambu it going to allow their mistake to go through they would be losing a lot of money

I am not complaining… seems I got lucky. I got an email confirmation that the order is good. We will see I guess.

Mine says it will ship around May 09. Since the current ones say May 07, I am hoping the ours will be a bit earlier. :crossed_fingers:

H2D with AMS = $2,699
H2D (printer only) = $2,399

$2,399 is the price for the H2D (printer only version. Aka No AMS)

I hope they adjust the shipping estimate for the April 8 pre-orders… If orders from today ship before the April 8 pre orders that would really suck, and honestly make no sense.
