I would buy at Micro Center if I could, but I’ve never seen one in stock here in Indiana. As for whether or not to buy now, buy it if you really need (or want) and can afford it. But it’s just like gambling; don’t be upset if the price goes back down (same as not gambling money you can’t afford to lose).
If I hadn’t ordered on March 25th at the original price, I’d cancel my order and buy from Micro Center, so that if I got a lemon I’d have a much easier time of returning/exchanging it.
The current tariff premium on the combo is $700 (35%). So if it doesn’t go up before the sale opens it could be a long time before you ever see them that cheap again.
Cons, isn’t Bambu still requiring warranty to go thru the reseller? I don’t know if that is still true, but it sounds like a con.
Pros, it’s big and expensive, so if it is broken it’s easy to take it back for a refund. But they are unlikely to have a replacement unit for you. Then again neither is Bambu.
Word in the industry is that they have cut way back on bringing in more of the older printers and the warehouse is emptying. They are bringing in more H2Ds and should have a few thousand on hand, roughly on par with launch day. To clarify, they are not bringing in H2Ds instead of the older units, those are just a dribble compared to the classic models.
It looks like you were lucky. The price has been adjusted back up to $2699. I ordered mine two weeks ago for $2399 and still have a May 9th shipping estimate.
Either they have more units available this time or not as many buying but it is 18 minutes after the hour and you can still add them to your cart. Two weeks ago they lasted only a few minutes.
I hope they adjust the shipping estimate for the April 8 pre-orders… If orders from today ship before the April 8 pre orders that would really suck, and honestly make no sense.
