H2D Extruder change failed

Hi, until now I have printed dual material successfully. However since yesterday when the printer wants to switch nozzles from left to the right, I get this error: Extruder chagne failed
It tries 4~5 times to switch, the little flap moves to the right nozzle. It does not go there completely and it apparently detects that. If I give it a nudge with my finger at the right moment it works, but only that one time. Please help I did not find anything about it in the wiki, there only broken motors are considered, but the motor is working.
I also removed the flap and checked for damage and cleaned it, there seems to be nothing wrong with it.

I would just make sure there’s nothing stuck to the little magnets on that nozzle blocker. And make sure that it is straight. I’ve heard that some people had them get sticky. You can try to put a very small amount of oil on the back of that bracket where it rotates on the screw that holds it in place

yeah, i tried that, i can rotate and it does go well on there, just when the thing is moving it turns the other way

there is no dirt or other things, everything is still clean. There are two magnets on the right extruder, is the one that is angled supposed to be repelling? Because it is not.
The are with the flap is somewhat loose, how tight is it supposed to be?

I had a smiliar error on arrival with my H2D, my issue was the nozzle blocker was slightly bent which led to a collision and god-awful noise on first calibration when it tried switching extruders so I had to replace it with one of the thankfully included replacements and I haven’t had an issue since

Edit: Sorry, missed the last line that says you checked for damage and didn’t see anything. I’m really not sure what could be going wrong without further disassembly of your toolhead and at that point you’re best off submitting a support ticket with Bambu to see what they can do for you

thank you for your long answer, i didn’t notice the replacement flap! I checked it it looks identical, i switched them out anyways. But i did not have the issue even before the swap, after I unscrewed it and put it back again, maybe because I tightened it? This part seems to have a big random factor to it.

I encountered the same problem this morning.
While using the left extruder, I broke my Nozzle Blocker Bracket as well as a structural part of the printer…

I’ve only done 2 days of printing and managed to get 3 beautiful prints using the right toolhead.

You can clearly see the crack in the photo.

I’m going to submit a support request to Bambu, but I’d like to know:
:point_right: **Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

Hi again, after i unscrewing and reinstalling I did not have the problem for some prints, then I the problem was there again. I replaced the flap with a new one. Then the problem was gone. I did not print much the last weeks, now I wanted to print something, and I have the problem again, reinstalling did not help.

Something else must be an issue here, I need support

Did you get this fixed? Surely there is a fix to it? My H2D is doing the exact same thing. When the flow blocker switches sides it goes a tad bit to far on the right nozzle and I to stand there and nudge it a little to left to get a print going but it’s very annoying.

I dont know, i printed 2 parts the last two nights, it did not appear again. i can’t tell if it is still present, but I really did not do anything but look at it very sharply and pressing on it

cross posting my fix from another thread:

Hi, all!
I have the same issue happening in my brand new H2D, and I’ve tried it all and still with the problem.
And, I still have no answer from Bambu Lab.

Any luck? My H2D has been down since June for this and related problems. Tech support has sent me new PCBs, I’ve purchased a new dual nozzle extruder assembly… nothing. At this point I think they are stringing me along until the warranty runs out so they can get our of replacing this lemon.

No.
Bambu Lab Technical Support has informed us that they will be sending parts (but not specifying which ones) that will resolve the issue. But this is already dragging on for too long, and I still don’t have a solution.

What’s even worse is that, from what you’ve described, it seems that replacing the parts (?) won’t resolve the issue.

I insist that this is a design flaw.
