H2D filament Buffer issue journey

so for some reason my left filament buffer wasn’t letting filament thru. previous to that, there was a bit of filament in the tub. I removed it but still persisted. took apart the Buffer and it came down to two things!

  1. PTFE Tube

    the PTFE tub came loose even tho I can see it thru the small window (im guessing due to the stop and the force of the filament trying to get thru, it forced the PTFE tub back out

  2. Small Magnet

Not sure why or how but this magnet was on backwards. so I re orientated it and it’s all fine now.

one thing I did find disturbing tho is that for such an expensive machine, it was missing one of the 4 screws to remove the buffer…I dont think this played a roll in this problem but :man_shrugging:

Across both of my Bambu Lab printers, I’ve encountered quality-control issues: missing screws, screws over-tightened to the point of cracking adjacent plastic or the PCB, and others left so loose they backed out under vibration. When I requested a warranty replacement PCB for an AMS unit, the claim was denied with the assertion that I had caused the damage. For context, my day job involves disassembling delicate electronics to access and service PCBs.

It’s disappointing to see these QA problems persist nearly a year on.
