H2D Filament Runout Error with AMS2

I have an H2D with and AMS2. When a filament runs out while printing, I’ve tried adding the new filament (while printing still) in the same slot before the H2D requests a new spool of filament. When I do this, I get and error as the H2D cuts the old filament and then can’t rewind it and the filament is stuck in the tube. With my A1 and AMS lite I used to be able to do this while printing. I noticed with the H2D, I have to wait for the old filament to completely purge and request a new filament.
Is this a software error? or am I just doing it wrong?

Also, I noticed that there is no ability to add a refill filament in another slot in the AMS2 to add as the automatic refill while the print has started. Is this an oversight by Bambu?

Speaking for H2D beta only:

  • print took more filament than remaining
  • machine pooped all remains of PTFE tubing
  • was forced to add filament to the slot that ran out

IMO expected behaviour. However, don’t know what stock firmware is doing
