H2D future functionalities are coming soon..............?

As advertised on the main page since released, we got the H2D Laser pretty much a week after its release. We still haven’t heard anything about these two features;

  • Contact-less 3D Mesh
  • Rotary Attachment

I’m just super curious.

Dont forget the metal mesh inserts, being able to print with 2 different sized nozzles etc

I’d say that was classic bait – it’ll drop just as the machine becomes obsolete, so they can squeeze out the last sales before launching the next model. Marketing genius: promise early, deliver when no one cares anymore.

And the metal mesh for the laser plate? That really should be included by default, especially since their own wiki references it as required for certain materials. So let’s hope the 10W and 40W laser users get it as a generous gift when it finally arrives… if it ever does.

And considering how many users seem to get parts outside of Bambu Lab’s official distribution chain, it’ll probably take a while before honest customers even get a chance to buy one – if it ever becomes available at all. :joy:

I really want the rotory tool and 3d meshing for the laser. They will make it 10x more usable. Cant wait. Gonna see some amazing coffee mugs lol

I have tried the 3d mesh, it kinda works but gets a bit wonky when you approach the edges. i’m talking about a circular fill with atext and logo inside that is not filled. I am not sure if was officially release but the bambu suite new version has it included.

If you put the cylinder in a jig that raises it up an inch or so that definelty does not work at all. I got slighlty better results setting scanning angle to 90 degress. My stainless cup was set as the same direction as the metal slats.

seems that the z hob it does might need a bit more work. I ran out of space on my sacrificial stainless tunber but one thing that helped was keeping the logo within the red bounds of the dot map.

I will say that an i/r laser module in the 2 to 3 watt range would be really nice. and the rotary too.
